This website acts as a development platform, basically my virtual playground.

I started this website by configuring a Raspberry Pi 2 as a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) server. It allowed me to learn the ins and outs of HTML, PHP and allowed me to run programs server side from the world-wide-web.

After hosting this site on the Raspberry Pi for a while I began to investigate the option of building a home theatre PC/ PVR sever. This server will be powered on 24 hours a day to record TV, it therefore made sense to migrate the webserver to it and off the Raspberry Pi. This allowed me to not only have the flexibly of an x86/x64 server but also allowed me to take advantage of far faster hardware.

After a discovery that the TV card I purchased does not have a working linux DVB-T driver, the idea of a Linux based HTPC was scrapped, therefore the server now runs Windows 10 Pro. A virtual machine (with the aid of Oracle Virtualbox) has been installed and launches upon Windows startup. This virtual Machine hosts a Debian LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) server.

I also, as part of this website, have a Raspberry Pi Zero wich runs the ADS-B reciever. This also serves the ADS-B data to flightradar24.

The website/RPi serves as my development platform for website dev and Linux software dev. It also serves as a home page with bookmarks to interesting sites.
